Clipper Card

Clipper is your all-in-one Bay Area Transit Card. You can use a Clipper Card on any of the Bay Area public transit agencies making it the easiest way to pay to get around the Bay. Where to get Clipper

In Santa Rosa you can purchase a Clipper Card at the Customer Service Kiosk at the Downtown Transit Mall, at Walgreens stores, Whole Foods stores, and at SMART train platforms. You can also purchase a Clipper Card at a number of other locations across the Bay Area. Click the “Map” button below for more retail locations.

Add value to your Clipper Card as you go, or for added convenience, set up Autoload, which automatically reloads your card whenever your pass expires or your cash value balance falls below $10.

Using Clipper

When riding with Santa Rosa CityBus just tag your card or mobile device at the Clipper machine when you enter the bus at the front door. Paying with Clipper is not the same for all Bay Area transit agencies. The links below will help you get the most out of your Clipper Card. Fare Media Available on Clipper

Santa Rosa CityBus accepts the following on a Clipper card:

  • Cash value: For single rides. You need a cash value balance of at least $1.50 on an adult Clipper card, $1.25 on a Youth Clipper card, or 75 cents on a Senior or RTC Clipper card to board if you are paying with cash value.
  • 31-day pass: Unlimited rides for 31 days. Available for adult, youth, senior, and disabled riders. Learn more about managing 31-day passes.

Riders ages 5-18 or 65 and over can apply for a Youth or Senior Clipper card by mail, email or fax. Or get a card in person. Fill out the application linked below and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page to either mail, email, or fax. You can also bring a complete form to our customer service kiosk located at our Downtown Transit Mall.

The Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount ID Card is available to persons with qualifying disabilities. You may use the card as proof of eligibility to receive discount fares on fixed-route, rail and ferry systems throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. It is also a Clipper card, and you can add cash value or products.
